I have narrowed my notes to deep summer and soft winter for now. online palettes seem simple yet real fabrics make them blur together. my notes began with photos taken in one steady shaded spot. then i removed makeup and bright accessories so they would not influence the result. deep shades gave contrast although a few made my under-eye shadows more noticeable. softer blue and berry fabrics felt comfortable but i may simply prefer them. i wrote down only repeatable changes in contrast skin texture and the appearance of my eyes. an organised color analysis could give me another way to compare those observations before i label anything. i do not expect a quiz to replace a trained consultation or good lighting. what has helped you distinguish a deep cool palette from a softer cool one? experiences with ordinary indoor daylight would help me most. i am trying to keep the exercise practical instead of treating one answer as absolute. keeping the same method over time seems like the fairest way to test it. i appreciate ideas from people who have worked through similar uncertainty.
